04 Sep Sustainability Report
We are pleased to present our second sustainability report, contributing to the formalization of Euroports’ ESG strategy for the Group and transparency. The report captures our commitment to creating positive impacts in society and it provides an overview of our social and environmental initiatives as well as our efforts to develop a healthy and safe workplace.
Our sustainability work in different areas notwithstanding, priority was given in 2022 to the following four areas:
- Good health and well-being
- Clean water and sanitation
- Decent work and economic growth
- Climate action
In 2022, we made significant progress in our sustainability journey, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and operational excellence. We implemented a diverse range of initiatives aimed at reducing our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, resulting in a notable 8% reduction compared to 2021. To reduce our carbon footprint, we have invested in renewable energy and upgraded our equipment to be more energy efficient. With regards to Health and Safety, we achieved a significant reduction in serious safety incidents by 59,19% and a decrease in lost time incidents by 17,28% compared to 2021.
The work is a continuous journey and as a signatory member of the UN Global Compact (UNGC) since 2021, we are committed to acknowledge our responsibility to act sustainably, mitigating our environmental impact, and ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the wider community.
