Euroports has successfully inaugurated a long-term collaboration with Medcem Cement Group, Turkey’s largest cement producer and exporter, at its TA168 Fertilizers & Minerals Terminal in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. This partnership marks a significant milestone in Euroports’ diversification strategy within the industrial minerals sector and reinforces the port’s position as a key European logistics hub for essential commodities.
A Strategic Partnership with Turkey’s Leading Cement Exporter
Medcem Cement Group, operates one of the world’s largest cement plants. The company exports approximately 90% of its production to over 20 countries worldwide, establishing itself as Turkey’s foremost cement exporter.
The first Medcem vessel was successfully discharged in December 2025, delivering 20,000 tonnes of CEM I 52.5 N cement. This initial shipment validates the operational capabilities of Euroports’ infrastructure and sets the foundation for a growing partnership.

Comprehensive Supply Chain Solutions for Cement Handling
Euroports’ TA168 terminal offers Medcem a complete end-to-end supply chain solution specifically designed for bulk cement operations. The service encompasses vessel unloading via an advanced pneumatic-discharging system, secure storage in a closed-circuit warehouse, loading through dedicated silo installations, and distribution support to Medcem’s customer base throughout the Benelux region. A cornerstone of this partnership is the jointly-adjusted pneumatic-discharging system that ensures exceptionally strict dust control during operations. This technology represents a collaborative engineering effort between Euroports and Medcem, specifically designed to address the environmental challenges associated with cement handling in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges.
The terminal’s connectivity provides direct access to road, and inland waterway transportation, enabling efficient distribution across Belgium and neighboring markets. With 2,540 meters of quay length, 400,000 tonnes of storage capacity, and ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, the TA168 terminal is optimally positioned to handle large-scale cement operations while maintaining the highest quality and environmental standards.
Long-Term Growth Perspective in the European Market
Enver Celikbas, Business Development and Investment Director at Medcem Global, emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership: « This partnership reflects our long-term commitment to the Benelux market and to building a supply chain customers can rely on for quality, consistency and dependability. In the coming years, we aim to expand our footprint in Antwerp and broaden our product range to better serve our customers’ needs. As Turkey’s largest cement exporter, we see this cooperation as an important step in accelerating our growth into a truly global player. »
For Euroports, this collaboration reinforces the company’s position as a leading provider of specialized handling solutions for essential commodities. The terminal’s expertise in fertilizers and industrial minerals, combined with its strategic location and multimodal connectivity, makes it an ideal partner for Medcem’s European market development.
