Euroports Inland Terminals officially opens its new terminal in Engis, marking the first milestone of its Priority Development Plan 2030 and strengthening the industrial logistics backbone of the Liège region.
The inauguration of 3R-Port Engis Terminal 1 – held on 12 May 2026 in the presence of Belgian government ministers – marks a significant step in Euroports Inland Terminals’ long-term development strategy. As the leading inland terminal operator in Wallonia, with approximately 5 million tonnes of cargo handled across 10 locations, Euroports is doubling down on the region’s strategic role in European supply chains.
A trimodal platform designed for industrial complexity
Built on a 3.5-hectare site alongside the Meuse River in the Liège region, 3R-Port Engis Terminal 1 delivers 15,000 m² of modern warehousing capacity. Its name captures its core value proposition: River, Road, Rail — a genuinely trimodal infrastructure connecting major European deep-sea ports with neighboring markets through a single, integrated platform. The terminal is SEVESO-certified, enabling it to handle both hazardous and non-hazardous cargo in a single facility. Its commodity scope spans heavy metal materials destined for the reverse metallurgy sector, lime and dolomite minerals, bulk, breakbulk, and containerized goods — making it a versatile asset for the region’s dense industrial base.

3R-Port Engis Terminal 1 is powered by a field of photovoltaic panels installed across its warehouse roofs, reflecting Euroports’ group-wide commitment to reducing the environmental footprint of port and logistics operations. The facility’s design prioritizes energy efficiency, emission reduction, and responsible industrial operations from day one.
The first step of a structured development roadmap
Terminal 1 is the opening move in Euroports Inland Terminals’ Priority Development Plan 2030 — a structured investment program aimed at modernizing and expanding its inland terminal network in Belgium. 3R-Port Engis is built to evolve with regional demand, acting as a springboard for increased capacity along the Liege logistics corridor. As part of its regional growth strategy, Euroports plans to develop Terminal 2, dedicated to de-icing salt logistics. Terminal 3, currently under feasibility study, is intended to serve as a logistics base for nearby industries.
Altogether, 3R-port Engis is set to become one of Europe’s most efficient inland logistic hubs.
