26 Oct Euroports France selects Mammoet to supply onshore heavy lifting and transport for EFGL floating wind project in Port-La Nouvelle
Les Eoliennes Flottantes du golfe du Lion (EFGL) and Euroports France announced today that they have selected Mammoet France, whose French operation is based in Marseille, to supply onshore heavy lifting and transport for the offloading, staging and installation of turbine components onto floater for the EFGL project in Port-La Nouvelle, France.
EFGL is a floating wind farm project developed by Ocean Winds (joint venture ENGIE – EDPR dedicated to offshore wind energy) and Banque des Territoires (Groupe Caisse des Dépôts). It consists of three WTGs mounted onto three floaters. Euroports France has been selected as general Service Provider in Port-La Nouvelle where all activities will take place.
Mammoet will use a 1.600 tons capacity crane and SPMT’s axle lines for performing all transport and lifting operations.
“We are happy to start the commercial partnership on this major project deployed by EFGL”, said Yan Billard, Managing Director of Mammoet France and Olivier Ruth, Managing Director of Euroports France. Port-La Nouvelle and the floating wind turbines are an essential part of the development of a green electricity strategy of France.
