𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗼𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁-𝗟𝗮 𝗡𝗼𝘂𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲

The first mobilizations of the AHTS Horizon Arctic, chartered by Bourbon Subsea Services, began in Port-La Nouvelle as part of the Eolmed project, one of the pioneering floating wind farms in the Mediterranean.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗼𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁
Located 18 km off the coast of Gruissan and Port-La Nouvelle, the wind farm will consist of 3 floating wind turbines, mounted on floaters developed by BW Ideol and equipped with 10 MW Vestas turbines.

𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲
As the contractor for the T&I (Transport & Installation) package, Bourbon is responsible for transporting and installing the floaters. For port and logistics support, Bourbon has chosen Euroports as a trusted partner.

𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀’ 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁
Throughout 2025, Euroports has been receiving, unloading, and preparing the equipment required for the anchoring of the wind turbines. These elements are then assembled in collaboration with the client. The so-called “Pre-lay” mobilization phase involves reloading the anchoring equipment onto the Horizon Arctic for offshore installation.

𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀
Once this stage is completed, Bourbon will carry out the towing of the floaters from Port-La Nouvelle to the offshore site. This operation, known as “Tow-out”, involves a main tug and the Horizon Arctic, which ensure the positioning and connection of the floaters to the anchoring chains. As the Port Agent for the floaters and vessels, we will support Bourbon in coordinating vessel movements and mobilizing Port Services (Pilots, Linesmen, and Tugs).

𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Finally, Euroports will receive the inter-array cables (IAC), which will be reloaded onto the Horizon Arctic to enable Bourbon to connect each floater to the Floating Electrical Hub (FEH). This hub will play a key role in transferring the electricity produced to the French national grid.
