Press release: Euroports sells Euroports Containers Meerhout NV to Inland Terminals B.V.

Euroports and Inland Terminals B.V. have reached an agreement on the sale of Euroports Containers Meerhout NV (“ECM”), operating the inland container terminal in Meerhout, Belgium.

The transaction was concluded for an undisclosed amount. Entire management team and staff will remain part of the terminal under its new name BCTN Meerhout.

For Inland Terminals B.V. (owner of BCTN BV in the Netherlands) the addition of the Meerhout facilities to their emerging portfolio of inland container terminals fully fits the company’s future strategy.

Euroports will use the proceeds from the sale to further strengthen its portfolio of deep-sea ports.

Charles Menkhorst, Group CEO of Euroports Holdings, stated: “Euroports would like to thank all customers, employees and other stakeholders of ECM for their trust and commitment.  We wish Inland Terminals B.V. every success and are confident that they will continue to deliver excellent value to ECM’s customers.”

Philippe Govers, the Managing Director of ECM is pleased to see ECM becoming part of a specialized inland terminal organization. The local organization will remain unchanged, at the same time as the wider network will provide growth opportunities and enhance services to ECM’s customers.
